Genealogy Help—Advocacy

One of our key missions is to ensure that public and federal records in Wisconsin remain open and affordable for genealogical and historical research. (WSGS Bylaws Article 1-Purpose #6) The Advocacy Committee shall be responsible for monitoring the actions of governmental officials and others that might affect the Wisconsin genealogical community. The committee shall also be responsible for helping the Society identify organizations with mutual interests and work with those organizations for the benefit of the genealogical community. (WSGS Policies and Procedures Manual Dec 2010, Sec IV-24)
